My name is Lesley Ito and I’ve been teaching English to children for over 20 years. I have an English school in Nagoya called BIG BOW English Lab (www.bigbowenglish.com), a unique school for children with a cross-curricular focus and a strong literacy program.

As a teacher trainer, I’ve given presentations all  over Japan – from Hokkaido to Kyushu. I also write ELT materials. And once in a while, I also work as a narrator – if you land at Nagoya Centrair’s airport, you’ll hear my voice telling you over and over again to, “Please watch your step.”

I’m originally from a small town in Florida, so living in a large Japanese city is quite a bit different from how I grew up. People always ask me, “So, do you like living in Japan?” I usually reply that sometimes it’s challenging and sometimes it’s wonderful. I wouldn’t want my life to be any other way.
